American Little League All-Star team

This year’s championship game will be played from Aug. 18 to 28 at Williamsport. The team is hoping to make it as far as the World Series as possible.
In the district championship game, Sweetwater Valley pitcher Joe Johnson threw a complete game, striking out nine batters and walking none. Duncan went three for four with two RBIs, and Vargas hit a two-run home run. The team had a total of 11 hits in the game. Sweetwater Valley is now in the California Section 7 championship tournament. Sweetwater Valley will join District 66 champion Spring Valley and District 22 champion Calexico in that tournament.
After finishing in the Southern California championship last season, the team brought back two core players and added a few potent newcomers. The players showed great team spirit and a strong will to win. The team also swept Encino Little League in the best two-of-three Southern California championship series.
